“Without practical application, everything is academic.”
Too often, I see entrepreneurs and CEO's stuck in a particular structure, strategy, or old patterns. Making it difficult to move their business or plans forward, or even simply decide on a tough decision. This is not easy criticism, it’s something everyone struggles with sooner or later. But the question is: who actually listens to you? Who can you trust, even with your doubts and uncertainties, or when you cannot 'calculate' your way forward...As the saying goes: 'it’s lonely at the top.'
In my 35 -year career, I’ve held every role: entrepreneur, manager, investor, and director. I’ve gone through all phases—from great success to burnout. And ultimately discovered that I find it far more rewarding to support others in their leadership, their change, and their success, than to be the one in charge myself.
That’s why I work as a trusted confidant. Someone you can share both the rational and emotional aspects of leadership with over a longer period. I believe these two elements cannot be separated for effective leadership. From that perspective, I help you in seeking and finding new paths, implementing change, and making choices to achieve set goals. And of course, we can also simply have a good conversation, even if it’s not about work.
My involvement goes deep. When I work with you, I’m fully present. If I can leverage my network, I will. If we need to meet in the evening or on weekends, we do. If a conversation is scheduled for one hour, I reserve two—just in case. Which is also the reason I have set a limit to the number of clients I work with at the same time.
Making a tangible contribution to long-term success is, for me, a greater reward than a short-term invoice. To paraphrase a client: I prefer to be a travel companion rather than a travel agency. That’s why I work with all my clients on a fixed monthly fee over a longer period, instead of an hourly fee. In my experience, this makes collaboration smoother and less sensitive to time spent.
